6 Months Old!

6 Months Old!

Here I am! Just checking my email with Aunt Kim...Look, no hands!Delicious!

On Monday May 24th Taylor turned 6 months old! We have not had her well visit yet, so we don't have her "stats". We'll be going to the doctor next week so we will post that info soon! We are also going next weekend to get her 6 month pictures taken, so those will be posted soon as well!

Here is an update on some of Taylor's accomplishments:
  • She has 2 bottom teeth coming in
  • We're down to only 1 night feeding (WOOHOO!) in a 12 hour stretch of sleep
  • She's eaten rice cereal, peaches, oatmeal, and applesauce
  • She can roll from her back to her tummy very easily
  • She can stand with support and walk holding our fingers
  • She can sit on her own and play with toys
  • She's very talkative!

Taylor likes... eating her toes, pulling mom's hair, walking around holding our fingers, her Jumperoo, all of her toys, touching different textures, cell phones and remote controls, "The Itsy Bitsy Spider", rolling over, splashing in the tub, blowing bubbles, getting her diaper changed, reading books (and eating them), staring out the window in the car, sitting, standing, silly faces, "talking" to mom and dad, getting lotion put on her before bedtime, getting her picture taken

Taylor dislikes... teething, strangers, being tired, trying new foods, when mom or dad leave the room, being stationary for too long, putting on her onesies, loud noises, being in a crowded room

My First Mother's Day and Other Adventures!

I am so happy to say that my first Mother's Day was absolutely wonderful! Sam and Taylor woke me up in the morning with flowers, and a scavenger hunt around the basement for my favorite candy and some gardening accessories. Sam also prepared a delicious breakfast for me, which we enjoyed with Taylor in her exersaucer nearby! We then headed to the zoo with Sam's mom, his brother Mark, our nephews Ryan and Mark, and niece Haley. Taylor was a little fussy at first but then enjoyed being out in the fresh air (after a rejuvenating nap!). After the zoo, we headed to my parents' house for a barbeque with my parents, my brother Eric, and my sister Kim. Overall, it was a wonderful day!!

Taylor has also reached some new milestones. She started on oatmeal on Sunday and has taken to it quite well. She has been teething a bit more, which has given her a few rough nights. She's also started to support herself in the standing position while holding on to her exersaucer. She actually did that for the first time today! It looks like it's time to purchase some standing toys!

Rolling Over!

On Wednesday, May 5, Taylor FINALLY rolled over from her tummy to her back! Daddy was dangling her tag blanket over her head, and that was all the motivation she needed! Sam cheered so loudly, and this was the result:

Luckily, it didn't scare her too much, and she did it again moments later!! We're glad that she reached this milestone before she turned 6 months.
